Query Example
Let's look at an example of a query.
To view the training status for employees
on Shift A:
1. Filter
the Employee List screen to view only employees who work on Shift
A.
On
the Employee List screen, click Filter on the toolbar. On
the Filter screen, type A in the Shift box. Click Apply to
save the filter. Now only Shift A employees appear on the
list.
Now you've got a list of employees who work
on Shift A, and you're ready to make a query about these employees.
2. Query
to Training Status for these employees.
On
the toolbar, click Query To. From the menu, click Training
Status for these Employees. Now you see a Training Status
list screen for employees on Shift A.
If you need to run the same query again
in the future, you can save it. All of the filters and query
options are stored in a single procedure, much like a macro.
You can even share your saved query with other users, if you
wish.
3. Save
the query.
On
the last screen of your query, select Query To on the toolbar.
Select Save Query and enter a title for the procedure.
Your saved procedure appears on the Saved
Query List screen. If the Public View option is "Y,"
the query will appear on everyone's Saved Query List.
4. Run
the query later.
From
the toolbar on any screen, click Go To and select Query View
List. Click the query, then click Run.
